Easter in Minnesota

So hubby's parents came into town for Easter. Here's a picture of peanut opening his new bath toys. If you look real close, you can see drool and boogers dripping from his face... we hope he's teething because he spent the morning in the church's nursery. :)

And the egg hunt begins!!! A few plastic eggs with skittles and money and a few hard boiled eggs... that weren't so gently tossed into her basket.
Below, you'll see Sweet Pea sporting her new specs... looking a little like a movie star! I told her that and she looked at me quizzically saying, "movie star?". She doesn't know what a movie star is :) too innocently sweet...
Sweet Pea, in her Easter dress. It looked pretty cute with her snow boots... yes, snow boots.

And, her snow man. Boppy and daddy helped her make a snow man bigger than her!!! It was a pretty special day...

Oh, yes... it was still snowing when we woke up. I've never experienced snow on Easter Day!!!

ready, set, go!!! egg hunting in the snow!!!

I thought I would write something to these pictures we posted last saturday.
Our church had an egg hunt, and it snowed good friday (and saturday and Easter Sunday... but who's complaining). Since I was running the egg hunt, many many people were asking me what my plan b was... were we going to have the hunt inside?! Nooooo, we couldn't have it inside!!! Our church has a food shelf every saturday morning and about 80 families come in... that's way too much going on inside our building! It was already going to be pretty difficult to keep the egg hunt out of the way of the food shelf :) Soooo, we had it outside! I kept reminding people that it was 20 degrees last year... bitterly cold 20 degrees not a warm and balmy 20 degrees!
Most kids had their snow pants on and I would have happily given kids candy if they didn't want to go and hunt for eggs in the snow... no one took me up on that offer though!!! Everyone went outside and they all had a great time! We had 50 kids (80 last year...) and everyone had fun. Luckily, it was snowing but it was warm. AND, if the snow wasn't there, it would have been muddier than you can imagine!!!
The hunting ground was just beautiful... looked like white frosting with sprinkles (or cookie dough?)

Peanut was there :)

See the tooth???

These were actually taken this morning!!! Wow... I'm on FIRE!

Peanut cut his first teeth right around the first of march. It's funny... to see a once toothless mouth with a tooth. The red spot you see on this forhead is where we did a head butt... oops.
Today, the kids and I were supposed to go on a field trip to a nature center to learn how to make maple syrup. Sweet Pea's not a fan of sweet foods for breakfast (donuts, muffins, breads, pancakes... you get the idea) but I thought this would be fun anyway. The blurb about the trip said 'appropriate for ages 2 1/2 and up'. No problem... she's the right age.

Well, after much stress getting up and out of the house ontime, we get to the bus (yes, a yellow school bus) and I'm told that I can't bring Peanut!!! What??? How is this any different than our trip to Disney on Ice or Sesame Street Live??? He's not taking up any space and you won't even know he's there!!! Thank goodness my friend Jodi was going too, she ended up taking sweet pea and I went home with Peanut.
So... we took pictures! It was weird being home alone with him. I miss that time I had with Sweet Pea!!! Bored, taking pictures, cleaning between crankiness, morning naps (for the baby, not me... really).

Enjoy a few of them. He was playing with his sister's golf clubs. He'll either be a great golfer someday or a great guitar player (left handed?). I'm fine with either. I'm sure his dad will be a little concerned that I gave him the pink club to play with... sorry honey, it wasn't on purpose!!!

Hot off the presses

Well, they were taken on wednesday... that's pretty good for me. We got a box from Grandma (mommy's grandma, as sweet pea says... she almost has it figured out... I'm not sure my mom likes being called my grandma :) Sweet Pea was playing with something else so I put the rabbit ears on Peanut. Then, he smiled!!! I thought the lighting was pretty good for my in-ability to take good pictures!

I am supposed to be scrapbooking this weekend... I'm completely un-organized though. I haven't touched my scrapbooking stuff in 1 whole year!!! Oh my gosh... it's still packed from my last scrapbooking weekend!!! I'm shocked.

Sweet pea's baby album is almost full and she's only 4 months old. I'm not sure what to do. I don't have pictures to finish it this weekend, nor do I have the space in the album?! I mis-calculated the space I was going to use. So, do I start over this weekend and try to get it done or do I just keep trucking knowing that other kids in our family won't have the extensive album that sweet pea's getting???

Also, we certainly aren't taking the pictures that we took of sweet pea. I was bored when it was just her and I. We used to chance outfits in the middle of the day and take pictures just for something to do!!! I'd put on a new pair of shoes on her and take pictures!

Now, we're out as a family and hubby takes pictures of her b/c she's doing something fun. Peanut's just hanging out in my arms :)

Soooo, we'll try to remedy that!

uncle mike

Can anyone tell I'm going through old pictures??? I'm supposed to be scrapbooking this weekend and I don't know where to start... so it's almost midnight and I haven't uploaded one picture to have printed out...

But, I found this picture of my brother... I've always thought my kids look like him!!! His ears are smaller... but the nose and forhead are very similar!!!

Sweet Pea, in da 'hood

I can't believe her dad took a picture of her like this... does anyone else think she's looks alittle strung out???

'hey... I need another cookie... do you have any cookies... seriously, I really need another cookie"

who's who?

OK, so one has a little less hair than the other... it's still fun to look at them next to each other!!! Luckily, Sweet Pea has hair to cover her ears and Peanut's ears haven't grown THAT much :)

~6 months... each... Peanut on the top, Sweet Pea on the bottom.
