words...

no, not peanut.

Sweet Pea, yesterday...

Mommy, look!! A Triangle!!!
-she was referring to her toast, which I cut diagonally.

Who taught her what triangles are? It wasn't me (I don't think). If it was Dora... I'm not sure what I'm going to do :)

Sweet Pea, today...

Mommy, come here. Mommy...
Yes, Sweet Pea
I have to tell you something

Really, does she internalize EVERYTHING I say? agh... too funny.

day 4...

Church... so much to do, so many toys to play with, so many friends to catch up with!!!

I introduced her to her teacher, Miss Anne, and told her that she needs to tell Miss Anne when she has to go pee pee on the potty. I also showed her where the potty is (connected to her class), we also talked about how cooooool the 'tiny' potty is!!!

Since I wasn't teaching or anything during that service, I decided to actually check Peanut into the infant nursery and leave Sweet Pea to the luck of the draw in the toddler nursery... and GO TO church!!!

Awhile later, I realized that my timing was all messed up and it was time for Peanut to eat. So, I got him, fed him, checked him back into his room and went back to church. By the time I made my way back to Sweet Pea's room, I learned that she went on the potty once and one the floor the other time!!! All in an hour (after going at home right before she left!)! Miss Anne had her in the potty, changing her clothes and Miss Heather cleaned up the floor!!! Oh, sweet pea... Miss Heather is like 10 or 11 months pregnant and she had to clean up your accident!!!

That was the only accident today though! We visited the bathroom at the restaurant we ate lunch at... many hours later, Arby's about 5 miles from our house on the way to the mall (she told me once we got on the highway :), and Kohl's while we were at the mall. Sweet thing... I was tired though.

Those auto flushers are scarey for little ones! She was scared in every bathroom we went into, whether it had the auto flusher or not.

ALSO... it only took her 4 days to learn that she could use pottying as a stall tactic... 45 minutes after we put her down for bed she's screaming for us b/c she has to go pee pee. Well, she didn't and she screamed when we put her back to bed. I'd heard of this tactic just thought it would take her longer to use it ;) Oh well.

I'm tired... hopefully I'll get some pics posted tomorrow.

day 3...

It was a dry day in our house!! We even went to the park for 1.5 hours and played with the niehgbors all afternoon!!!

I know, I know... just b/c we had ONE dry day doesn't mean that I won't have challenges ahead. It doesn't mean that I should not bring changes of clothes with us everywhere I go.

But, day 1 STUNK!!! I was exhausted... I cried... she cried... peanut cried (unrelated to potty training)... it was worth it though for a dry day.

She made cupcakes at jodi's house for a reward. We talked about it all day b/c she couldn't do it yesterday (2 accidents).

That little tushy in undies is awesome! YEAH!

(we're still in diapers for night-time... I'm OK with that for a little while longer. She still doesn't know she can get out of her bed... I'm not quite ready to tell her she's allowed :)

Potty training, day two

Tally....

3 puddles on the kitchen floor
1 puddle on my bedroom carpeting (and a wet stool as she was climbing onto our bed... THAT was a close one)

1 wet Dora
1 wet Elmo
1 wet Curious George

Dry... Zoe and Dora, take 2

Many, many little baggies of:
m&m's
mini m&m's
peanut m&m's
dots
sour patch kids
dum dum's
oreo cookie

Prizes:
mini pony
mini pony's friend, mini pony
super ball w/ spider man for her friend sammy
jar of bubbles for around her neck (that got taken away when she spilled)

m&m's are MUCH more exciting than any of the prices in her bucket... she was getting candy to sit on the potty and a prize to GO on the potty until she figured out that she only had to sit on the potty to get candy... she's a quick one! We went to the potty every 3.5 minutes a few times in a row, without actually pottying, before I changed the rules. Now, the candy and prize buckets have been married and she only gets something if she puts something IN the potty.

Yesterday, dinner was ready and she was CRYING because she wanted to sit on the potty until she went... she REALLY wanted those m&m's. I made her get off of the potty to eat dinner. Not sure if that move is a good one when you're training a 2 year old, but I was DARN tired of hanging out in the bathroom. The bathroom is clean... reorganized... I started folding laundry in the bathroom in the afternoon (there's something about putting clean clothes on the bathroom floor while you're folding it that grossed me out).

She's doing great though. As tired as I was by the time hubby got home... she's 2 and she's learning. I was seriously drained, with nothing left to give anyone... but it will be worth it - hopefully sooner than later!
