Again, it's been so long...

Since my last post, we've returned from Ohio and tried to get settled back into a routine. It's been a week, and I'm finally feeling settled!!! We don' t have any major activities scheduled until my parents and some relatives come to town later in May (only mom/dad are staying here... our place is too small!!!).

It's weird to feel things coming to an end. The music class that Sweet Pea goes to only has two more meetings. MOPS only has one more meeting. Tutoring has 4-5 more meetings. AND, I haven't scheduled us for anything else!!! Everything follows a school year schedule! I didn't think I'd think about school year schedules until my kiddos were in school... I was mistaken!

I guess we'll be spending more time at the parks around here... or maybe the zoo... or something.

I was at a Children's Minister/Worker conference over the weekend. Hubby took Sweet Pea to the park by our house for an hour!!! He has his camera with him and got quite a few GREAT shots of her. We had been in Ohio the week prior and then he was working late or at church meetings after we returned. It was nice for him to get to spend time with her while I wasn't there. It's amazing how attached littles can get to the person they see most often. It saddens me to see Sweet Pea throw a fit when daddy gets home and tries to pick her up and give her a hug. I guess I just need to spend more time away??? I'm dreaming of pedicures, shopping excursions (with money from our money tree), scrapbooking weekends with my friends, or just a hotel where I can sleep??? That way, daddy and sweet pea can bond. I'm really just thinking of him, right?! It's not selfish, right?!

Well, here are some pics from daddy/daughter time at the park.

"I want snack" or "Snack please"... depending on the mood.

Today, we went out and had professional pictures taken... 54 shots later we had to decide which ones to buy!!!!

These are just a few of what we came home with...

Her first grade photo, above...

Her funny smile photo, above...

We came home with MANY, MANY more pictures... it was hard to decide which ones to buy, let alone which ones to post!!!

All relatives (distant and not-so-distant) will be receiving copies shortly :)

First Haircut

So, Hubby actually agreed to let me get Sweet Pea's hair cut... since we're heading to Ohio tomorrow to visit my parents and my mom wants to get her picture taken (more professionally than target :), I thought I'd get her hair cut before we left.
Here's the before picture. We played at the mall play area before going in...
Luckily they had Elmo on video... she was locked into the TV the entire time!!!
She wouldn't even look at me to get a picture taken.
So serious!!!! "come on, smile..."

Insert a sucker and at least we get a smile...

Do you think I took too many pictures???

A quick blow dry...

The after picture. They put the 'doinker' in her hair... she shortly pulled it out!!! She looks like such a big girl...

Week 3, grandma and grandpa visit

Hubby's mom and dad came to visit us over their spring break. It was a wonderful week with them!! Not exactly the greatest weather for a spring break since it was freezing cold and it actually snowed, but weather isn't everything right?!

Sweet Pea loved watching Elmo on Boppy's lap. Yep, it's Boppy... we say Grandpa and she repeats back with Boppy, I think it has stuck. I'm not sure why she's wearing her hat, we weren't going anywhere.

Next, we went to the zoo. She loves watching the dolphin show and going to the big aquarium to see the slippery fish. We all got a kick of her running from exhibit to exhibit saying MORE, MORE!!! She'd point to things and say "night, night" if it looks like the animals are sleeping. She quacks at the ducks, makes monkey noises at the monkeys, oinks at the pigs that aren't actually pigs (I can't remember what they're called... Tarpins maybe?).

It was really crowded since it was spring break here and really cold. What's there to do when it's 25 degrees and all of the kids are home?! Go to the zoo!!!!

Basically, we love our Zoo pass! I was telling Boppy that when I went to the zoo while I was growing up it was such a big deal!!! Sweet Pea's not going to think that since we go every other week!

On another day, hubby took a half day off of work and we went to the children's museum. What a blast!!!! Oh my gosh... she had a blast! Here, you see her 'picking' flowers. She gave them to Grandma and then we replanted them. We were in "Bob the Builder" land...

She's trying to keep up with the big kids here... there was pretend water coming out of a spout (plastic blue balls). She was helping collect them.
