Pics from Grandma's visit

Here are a few pics from Grandma's Camera... she was here for 1 1/2 weeks!!! yeah! I'll take some pics of the nursery and our headboard project once the headboard is actually finished and hanging. Also, Sweet Pea's new room once I get it mostly completed... it won't be actually completed for awhile :)

Got Milk?

Bubbles on the deck while Grandma and mommy plant some flowers!

29 weeks and counting... there he is, sticking out for all to see. Anyone remember me running a marathon just 7 months ago? Now, I'm breathless when I climb stairs!

Pic 1... getting ready to catch the ball... put your hands in front of you...

Here's the ball... now you let it bounce off of your belly and chace it on the ground :)

another post and no pics :)

Yes, it's been a little over a week and I'm posting again without any pictures. I'm posting on our laptop which doesn't have the cool little memory card slots that our desktop has and, well, I'm feeling just a little third trimester tired-ness right now.

It's almost like I had NO energy today. Everything took more effort than it should... it's 8:30, she's asleep and I should be finishing a few projects or cleaning the kitchen or putting the laundry away!? Instead, I'm sitting here...

My brother and his girlfriend are in Iraq... actually, my brother may still be in Spain on his way to Iraq. They seem to be doing fine, asking for AA batteries and Swiffer... yes, swiffer!!! I guess they use swiffer to clean the floors? It's nice, they have email access... great stuff!

Sweet Pea's vocabulary is expanding exponentially! Last week, she started adding the word 'two' to the end of sentences.

"Sweet pea drink two?"
"mommy go outside two?"
"Daddy shoes, mommy shoes two? Sweet Pea shoes two?"

AND... she started saying "no, thank you" if she doesn't want something! Really funny... she learned this by listening to other people I guess!!!

This Saturday, we were on our way to the zoo, and Sweet pea threw up on the was... same spot as she threw up on the way to church one day... we're now calling it throw up corner. We are certain that she gets car-sick. No more reading books right after eating breakfast in the car!!! So, we turned around and Sweet Pea was so said. She wanted to go and see slippery fish!!! She wanted Dolphins (clap, clap, clap...). So, we went home and changed and headed out again! Agh, she has us wrapped around her finger :) We really got to the zoo, walked to the tropical fish area and walked around for 20-25 minutes (a small area looking into the tropical tank). We then walked to the Dolphin area and went to the dolphin show and sat for 20 minutes. Then, we left! Quickest trip to the zoo EVER!

To make the day turn worse, we left the zoo and headed to IKEA... hubby's least favorite store in the entire area!!! We bought a Futon though... something for guests to sleep on when they're in town. Sweet Pea's taking over our guest bedroom... no place for guests. So, it won't exactly be the Hilton, but it'll be a room with a door and privacy (and an x-box and huge-screen TV... hubby's actually thinking of sleeping down there and giving guests our room!)!.

The other thing we did this weekend as a family :) was take Sweet Pea to feed the ducks... she LOVES it and it's the easiest thing ever!!! I still haven't seen the female ducks... they still must be sitting on eggs...

That's it... random thoughts from a tired mom. I guess I'll sign off and get some sleep... we'll try again another day (hoping for a little more cohesiveness and direction in my blog!).

Happy Monday?

Ahhh... the ending to a monday. It's amazing how tired I get on Mondays!!! You'd think you'd have all of this time to relax and rejuvinate on the weekend... and you could tackle Mondays with your eyes shut!!! But no... so tired.

Family has been in town for a few days. My mom arrived on Tuesday afternoon and picked up Sweet Pea from my neighbor's house while I tutored. My aunt and uncle (mom's brother) arrived on Thursday night from Japan - after 30 hours of door to door travel. Friday, we drove up to my aunt and uncle's house just north of here (mom's brother) and stayed with them for the weekend. Mom stayed up north with everyone, they'll return to my house tomorrow so we can go to the zoo with Sweet Pea!!! I guess I'm tired because I haven't gotten my nap in awhile?

Boy is it ever nice to have another person around! We planted flowers, cleaned and organized the basement, sorted baby clothes (both boy and girl!)... it's been so much fun and so much has gotten done!!!

Mom is leaving on Saturday (I think)... won't be back until this baby arrives.

Pregnancy is going well. We had a scare a few weeks ago that I'll blog about some other day. I have my next appointment next week... the glucose test day! I feel huge and I'm uncomfortable, but everything is going well. I just wish I could still bend over :) I painted my toes last week, I think for the last time!!! Pregnancy during the summer isn't the best idea!!! Maybe next time (if there is a next time) we'll shoot for a winter-time birth?

Oh, my brother is leaving for Iraq tomorrow, for 90 days. If you all could keep him and his girlfriend (who is there already, for 30 days)... safety and a quick return. My brother and his girlfriend are in the Air National Guard, crew chiefs. My brother doesn't plan on ever leaving base... he says it should keep him safe... we still worry though, right?

Signing off for now... more later, maybe with some pictures :)

It's not that we don't love you all...

I just don't know where the days go?!!!

So, since last week sometime, I've been painting Sweet Pea's new room. It started with taking down all of the closet hardwear, patching holes, and painting it... then, we taped a line around the room about 1/3 of the way up from the floor and painted the upper half white (3 coats), then we taped over the white and painted the bottom 1/3 'cherry cobbler' (4 coats and a primer). Oh, when I say 'we' I really mean ME. All during her nap, which is my working time, my blogging time, my nap time, my catching up on 24 time, etc. Needless to say, that is my excuse for not blogging for so long.

We're moving Sweet pea into her new room in a few weeks. She'll be in a day bed with a bed rail... and hopefully happy and sleeping soundly?! I haven't talked too much about it yet with her because my mom is coming on tuesday for a week or so and she'll be staying in the room. I thought that might be a little confusing?! We have a double bed, big dresser, head-board, and night stand that we don't know what to do with though. We don't necessarily like this set, but it's so expensive to replace... we want to store it until we have more room but we don't have the room to store it. Sweet pea can't use it becuase it's too big for the room... there wouldn't be any space for her or the toys that are currently stored all over the house. So, we're asking our neighbors if they will store it for us for a little while (say, like, 2 years!). They have a three car garage and another two story garage behind their house, hopefully they'll store it for us?!

So, back to the paint. I would never, never recommend painting anything pure white or dark red. It has to be the worst paint job I've ever done. Thankfully, Sweet pea won't complain. The bedding I got her is a light sage green with a few big lady bugs on it and black/white checked accents. We didn't know what color to paint the room since we already have too much green and tan throughout the house... so hubby thought of this scenerio. Of course, he wants to take it one step further and paint large black circles where the red is... I don't think so though. I told him we could test it out with circles cut out of construction paper to see if we liked it.

So today, I finally got my kitchen floor cleaned and am able to sit down in front of the computer for a few minutes. Yeah!! as sweet pea would say.

I love the hands in the air waving while yelling 'yeah'... I told her over breakfast that we were going garage sale-ing this morning and she yelled 'yeah!'. Yesterday, I told her we had a few errands to run and she yelled 'yeah'!!!! hands in air and evertything!

I've been trying to work on her pronounciation too... realising that I can understand more of what she says that most people.

When she's all done with something she says, "da don". I usually come back to her with, 'Sweet Pea, say it right'... to which she says, 'mama, da don, pweese'.

So, we start again... 'no, sweet pea, say Aaaallll done' which she usually replies back with 'alllllll done'.

Yesterday, after a few trys back and forth, she replied back with 'ma moner'... her word for cookie monster, which we've also been working on. I don't think she was calling me a monster, right?!

She says 'cookie' like 'cookcook', so I figure saying cookie monster like 'cookcook moner' is better... and she knows exactly how to do that when she wants to.

Soooo, on the topic of potty training, she actually told her dad that she had to go a week ago last sunday. She grabbed his little hand-held video game and went to the potty (after getting some help with her pants and diapers). After a few minutes playing video games (right!), she actually went! Her reward, a hershey kiss!!! Thankfully, daddy left the pee pee in the potty until I got home to show me (yuck!). Sweet pea told me that she got chocolate when I got home and she was soooo excited! Now, though, she won't even sit on it! So, we put it away and we'll try again some other day. Now, what to do with the bag of hershey's kisses?!

On the topic of clothes and sweet pea... how can you skip an entire size of cloths??? She's been in 24m/2T stuff for most of the winter and now... her 2T shorts are like daisy dukes! There's something very unflattering about sam's club diapers hanging out of pants... so we finally broke out the 3T clothes last week!!! Toooo cute, but so sad she really didn't get to wear the 2T stuff we had for her!!! No worries, her friend Jorie will hopefully get some use from it?!

When I first found out I was pregnant, we were so excited, but then I was sad because I didn't have any friends that were pregnant too! Last time, I had two good friends that were due right around the same time as me (one, courtney, due 2 days after me!!!). This time, nothing. Although, I now have two friends here that are pregnant!!! Looks like I started a trend?!! Baby fever is catchy, isn't it. I'm due in August... Heidi in November and Amanda in December!!!! Yeah..... more women to complain with about our ever expanding waistlines and how frustrating it is to have to go to the bathroom every hour, even though there isn't much pee there to go?!

I should sign off, I'm doing an awful lot of rambling today. I'll post some pictures of our trip to feed the ducks last saturday - later!!!
