I just don't know where the days go?!!!
So, since last week sometime, I've been painting Sweet Pea's new room. It started with taking down all of the closet hardwear, patching holes, and painting it... then, we taped a line around the room about 1/3 of the way up from the floor and painted the upper half white (3 coats), then we taped over the white and painted the bottom 1/3 'cherry cobbler' (4 coats and a primer). Oh, when I say 'we' I really mean ME. All during her nap, which is my working time, my blogging time, my nap time, my catching up on 24 time, etc. Needless to say, that is my excuse for not blogging for so long.
We're moving Sweet pea into her new room in a few weeks. She'll be in a day bed with a bed rail... and hopefully happy and sleeping soundly?! I haven't talked too much about it yet with her because my mom is coming on tuesday for a week or so and she'll be staying in the room. I thought that might be a little confusing?! We have a double bed, big dresser, head-board, and night stand that we don't know what to do with though. We don't necessarily like this set, but it's so expensive to replace... we want to store it until we have more room but we don't have the room to store it. Sweet pea can't use it becuase it's too big for the room... there wouldn't be any space for her or the toys that are currently stored all over the house. So, we're asking our neighbors if they will store it for us for a little while (say, like, 2 years!). They have a three car garage and another two story garage behind their house, hopefully they'll store it for us?!
So, back to the paint. I would never, never recommend painting anything pure white or dark red. It has to be the worst paint job I've ever done. Thankfully, Sweet pea won't complain. The bedding I got her is a light sage green with a few big lady bugs on it and black/white checked accents. We didn't know what color to paint the room since we already have too much green and tan throughout the house... so hubby thought of this scenerio. Of course, he wants to take it one step further and paint large black circles where the red is... I don't think so though. I told him we could test it out with circles cut out of construction paper to see if we liked it.
So today, I finally got my kitchen floor cleaned and am able to sit down in front of the computer for a few minutes. Yeah!! as sweet pea would say.
I love the hands in the air waving while yelling 'yeah'... I told her over breakfast that we were going garage sale-ing this morning and she yelled 'yeah!'. Yesterday, I told her we had a few errands to run and she yelled 'yeah'!!!! hands in air and evertything!
I've been trying to work on her pronounciation too... realising that I can understand more of what she says that most people.
When she's all done with something she says, "da don". I usually come back to her with, 'Sweet Pea, say it right'... to which she says, 'mama, da don, pweese'.
So, we start again... 'no, sweet pea, say Aaaallll done' which she usually replies back with 'alllllll done'.
Yesterday, after a few trys back and forth, she replied back with 'ma moner'... her word for cookie monster, which we've also been working on. I don't think she was calling me a monster, right?!
She says 'cookie' like 'cookcook', so I figure saying cookie monster like 'cookcook moner' is better... and she knows exactly how to do that when she wants to.
Soooo, on the topic of potty training, she actually told her dad that she had to go a week ago last sunday. She grabbed his little hand-held video game and went to the potty (after getting some help with her pants and diapers). After a few minutes playing video games (right!), she actually went! Her reward, a hershey kiss!!! Thankfully, daddy left the pee pee in the potty until I got home to show me (yuck!). Sweet pea told me that she got chocolate when I got home and she was soooo excited! Now, though, she won't even sit on it! So, we put it away and we'll try again some other day. Now, what to do with the bag of hershey's kisses?!
On the topic of clothes and sweet pea... how can you skip an entire size of cloths??? She's been in 24m/2T stuff for most of the winter and now... her 2T shorts are like daisy dukes! There's something very unflattering about sam's club diapers hanging out of pants... so we finally broke out the 3T clothes last week!!! Toooo cute, but so sad she really didn't get to wear the 2T stuff we had for her!!! No worries, her friend Jorie will hopefully get some use from it?!
When I first found out I was pregnant, we were so excited, but then I was sad because I didn't have any friends that were pregnant too! Last time, I had two good friends that were due right around the same time as me (one, courtney, due 2 days after me!!!). This time, nothing. Although, I now have two friends here that are pregnant!!! Looks like I started a trend?!! Baby fever is catchy, isn't it. I'm due in August... Heidi in November and Amanda in December!!!! Yeah..... more women to complain with about our ever expanding waistlines and how frustrating it is to have to go to the bathroom every hour, even though there isn't much pee there to go?!
I should sign off, I'm doing an awful lot of rambling today. I'll post some pictures of our trip to feed the ducks last saturday - later!!!
